Privacy Policy

Welcome to Good4Me? We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. If you have any questions or concerns about this privacy notice or our practices with regard to your personal information, please contact us at support@good4me.info.
1. Information We Collect
Good4Me? does not require an account or sign-in. We process only the information needed to provide and support the app:
- Food Photos and Text: When you ask Good4Me? to check a food, the photo you take or upload, or the food name you type, is sent securely to the Good4Me? service and our AI processing provider (Google Gemini) to generate the result.
- Voice Input: If you choose the microphone button, your device's speech-recognition service converts your speech into text. Good4Me? does not retain or send the raw audio to its servers. The recognised food name is displayed for you to review and is sent for analysis only when you select Ask.
- Age and Health Profile: Your selected age band and health conditions are stored locally on your device. When you request a food check, the selected age band and conditions are included with that request so the result can be tailored to the profile. Good4Me? does not use this information to create an account, build an advertising profile, or sell it.
- Approximate Country: The app uses an IP-based country lookup to choose a suitable default language and suggest country-specific government or public-health guidance. The lookup provider receives your IP address as part of the internet request. Good4Me? does not request or store your precise location. You can override the suggested guidance region in the app.
- Anonymous Activity Counts: On first launch, the app sends the date, country code, device platform, and whether this is a new installation or an existing installation first seen after reporting was introduced. To understand and improve the subscription purchase journey, it also sends anonymous counts when the subscription offer is shown, the upgrade button is tapped, store checkout is requested, checkout is cancelled or fails, and an active subscription is detected locally. The product identifier is included, but these events are diagnostic signals rather than proof of payment and may include testers or repeated attempts. They are separate from verified store sales and optional purchase analytics. These events do not contain your name, email address, advertising identifier, device identifier, payment evidence, or a permanent Good4Me? user identifier.
- Device-based Trial Allowance: Updated Good4Me? releases provide 5 successful food checks in total across all checking methods, with every feature available during the trial. No account, name, email address or password is required. On iOS, the app creates a random reference in the device’s secure, non-synchronising Keychain. On Android, it creates an app-scoped reference from the Android device identifier without sending the raw identifier. The reference is sent securely to Good4Me? and transformed using a server-held secret before storage. This device-related information is pseudonymous, not completely anonymous. It is used only to enforce the trial allowance and prevent ordinary uninstalling and reinstalling from restoring it.
- Diagnostic and Service Data: Our hosting, AI, advertising, and app-store providers may process technical data such as IP address, device information, request time, and service logs as needed to operate, secure, and improve their services.
2. How We Use and Retain Information
Food-check information is used to generate and return the requested result, maintain service security, and diagnose failures. Good4Me? does not intentionally retain food photos, typed food names, or health-profile details in a user database after the request has been processed. Anonymous first-launch and reported PRO-upgrade events are combined into daily totals by country and platform; reports do not contain individual event times, receipts, or purchase tokens. Service providers may retain limited technical logs under their own policies and legal obligations. Your saved profile and app preferences remain on your device until you change them, clear app data, or delete the app.
Trial records contain the protected device reference, the number of successful checks used, the trial release generation, and temporary request references and timestamps used to prevent duplicate or simultaneous counting. They do not contain food photos, food names, health profiles, names, email addresses or payment-card details. Completed and failed request references are removed after 30 days when that device next contacts the service. The allowance record is retained while needed to enforce the trial across reinstalls and app releases. Deleting the app does not delete the server allowance record or necessarily remove its iOS Keychain reference. A different device, factory reset or loss of secure device storage may receive a separate allowance.
When a new trial-enabled release is made available, users who have exhausted their allowance receive 5 fresh checks when they use that updated release. Users with checks remaining keep their remaining balance. An active subscription takes precedence: paid checks do not use the trial allowance, and an app update does not change the subscription. Failed or incomplete food assessments do not consume a check. A check counts once the service has successfully completed the result; a connection failure after completion may prevent it reaching the device. Subscription evidence is checked with Apple or Google to confirm access and is not stored in the trial counter.
3. Third-Party Services
We use trusted third-party services that may collect information used to identify you. Link to the privacy policies of third-party service providers used by the app:
- Apple (For App Store distribution and subscription billing on iOS)
- Google Play Services (For app distribution and subscription billing on Android)
- Google AdMob (For advertisements in older free releases)
- Google Gemini API (For processing food label text and images)
- ipapi (For approximate country lookup)
4. Advertising
Updated releases with the 5-check trial do not display AdMob advertisements during the trial or subscription. Older free releases may display advertisements through Google AdMob. In those older releases, AdMob may process device identifiers, advertising data and interaction data depending on device settings and consent choices.
5. Subscriptions and Payments
Good4Me? subscription payments are processed by Apple through the App Store on iOS and by Google Play on Android. We receive subscription entitlement information needed to confirm subscription access, but we do not collect, process, or store your payment-card details.
6. Your Choices
You can change or clear your health profile in the app, restrict camera, photo or microphone access in device settings, review your advertising privacy choices from the app when required, manage advertising permissions in iOS settings, and manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple Account or Google Play account. You may also delete locally stored app data by deleting the app.
Website Analytics
With your permission, the Good4Me? website uses Google Analytics and Google Ads measurement cookies to count new and returning website visitors, link clicks, clicks to the Apple App Store and Google Play, and successful returns from our enquiry form service. Store clicks are not downloads or purchases. This helps us understand advertising results. Google may receive your IP address, browser and device information and advertising click identifiers. We do not send names, email addresses, enquiry messages or health profiles to Google Analytics or Google Ads. Personalised advertising and enhanced conversions are not enabled by this website implementation.
Choose Accept measurement or Reject measurement in the banner. Google Ads tags do not load until you accept. You can withdraw consent at any time using Measurement settings at the bottom of the page. Your choice is stored on your device for up to 180 days. If you reject, or use a tracking blocker, those actions will not be measured. See Google’s Privacy Policy. Enquiries continue to be handled by FormSubmit; measurement does not share their contents with Google.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

Optional app analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, Google Analytics for Firebase measures app use and checkout activity using an app instance identifier, platform and app version. You can withdraw consent through Analytics preferences in the app. Analytics collection is disabled until you choose to allow it.
To verify paid purchases and maintain accurate sales records, purchase evidence is sent securely to our server for checking with Apple or Google. This operational verification is separate from optional Analytics. Only if you allow Analytics do we also send a confirmed-purchase event and app instance identifier to Google Analytics. Raw purchase tokens and signed receipts are not stored in the analytics ledger or sent to Google Analytics. We record a hashed transaction reference, purchase amount, currency, purchase time and verification time to avoid duplicate reports and prepare daily sales summaries. Test purchases and free offers are excluded from our confirmed paid-upgrade metric. Food photos, health profiles and email addresses are not sent to Analytics. Store financial reports remain the source for proceeds and refunds.
